Bart David ripping El Cabezo Francesco Ventura spinning Eagle Wing Per Playa de El Cabezo

   El Cabezo
Windsurfing: Perfect wind direction: northeast (tradewinds), wind sideonshore from the left-hand side. Top windsurfing spot, that works almost the whole year through. Waves:  windwaves breaking over sand in the northern part of the bay, over a reef in front of the bunker. Few days with swell a year.
for more Cabezo windsurf- action click here!!
Surfing: The swell only enters from southern or eastern directions. East swell works only very few days a year and breaks over the reef in front of the bunker. In summer the southern swell can be more freequent and creates a nice, mostly small wave in front of the hotel "Atlantic Playa".
Kiteboarding: For a lot of Cabezo- locals, Kiteboarding is the perfect supplement to Windsurfing. If the trade winds don´t blow strong enough, to guarantee windsurf- action, it´s time to go kiting. Because of the rocks only experienced kiters should go out here. Beginners choose the bay of El Médano, as a sandy alternative.
   El Muelle (the harbour wall)
Windsurfing: The spot next to El Cabezo is more than just an alternative. The tradewinds blow more sideshore and with south- swell it´s perfect for down the line waveriding. Because of the rocky beach (reefbreak) it´s almost impossible, to to go into the water right at the spot. To reach the harbour wall, you either have to go downwind from Cabezo or upwind from El Médano beach.
Surfing: Like El Cabezo, the spot only offers good surfing conditions a cupple of days a year. Anyway, most of the time it´s to windy!
Kiteboarding: Forget about it- to many rocks!
   El Médano bay
Windsurfing: Small waves and the sandy beach make this spot perfect for learning. Even with strong wind, the waves hardly get bigger than 1,5 meters. Then you can practise freestyle, waveriding or  jumps.
Kiteboarding: A huge, sandy beach- perfect for kiting! Also for first steps it´s a safe and relaxed place, where you can learn how to handle the kite or how to waterstart.
